Hometown Metropolitan District No. 2 (the “District”) is a Title 32 Special District that has been established for the purpose of planning, designing, acquiring, constructing, installing, relocating, redeveloping and financing of street, park and recreation, water, sanitation, and safety protection improvements of the District, and all other improvements or services permitted by Article 1, Title 32, C.R.S. (collectively, the “Public Improvements and Services”), except as specifically limited by the Service Plan for the District approved by the City of Arvada on February 22, 2008, as may be amended from time to time (the “Service Plan”).

The Public Improvements and Services are for the use and benefit of the residents and taxpayers of the District. The District is located in the City of Arvada, Jefferson County, Colorado. The District is a quasi-municipal political subdivision of the State of Colorado authorized to provide specialized services that the City of Arvada or Jefferson County do not provide.

The District, along with the former Hometown Metropolitan District Nos. 1 (now known as Westown Metropolitan District), 3 and 4 (both dissolved in 2016), may incur a maximum debt of $7,500,000 in the aggregate.  Debt may be payable from any and all legally available revenues of the District, including general ad valorem property taxes, fees, rates, tolls, penalties, or charges as provided in the Service Plan and Section 32-1-1001(1), C.R.S.

The District may assess a maximum mill levy of 40 mills, as adjusted after January 1, 2004, to take into account legislative or constitutionally imposed adjustments in the method of calculating assessed value, to repay such debt.

The District files an Annual Report to the City of Arvada and Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder.

The District’s boundaries overlap with the boundaries of: R1 (Jefferson County) School District; Jefferson County; Department of Social Services; Developmental Disability Fund; Library District; Road & Bridge Fund; City of Arvada; Apex Park & Recreation District; Arvada Fire District; Urban Drainage & Flood South Platte District; and Urban Drainage & Flood Control District.
